THERE’S A RIDER COMIN’ IN
¶ Right now, this very hour…
¶ …”The Kings of the earth are standing up, and with the rulers of the nations are gathering themselves together against the Lord and against His Christ.” (Psalms 2:2, ¹wcv) …for one last onslaught, to annihilate, and remove from the face of the earth the Gospel of Jesus Christ and all of us who spread the Good News of Freedom, Salvation, and Eternal Life. Just who is it that is orchestrating all of this? Well, let’s take a journey back beyond antiquity, back into an age when ages did not exist, where, according to the Scriptures, “There was a war in heaven.” (Revelation 12:7) Yes, there was a coup in heaven led by one of the most powerful, magnificent, and beautiful of God’s created beings. His name was Lucifer, the “son of the morning”, “bringer of light”, and the “morning star”. These names certainly do speak for themselves. He was “THE” anointed angel, “THE” liege lord, if you will, created by Almighty God, to protect, cover, and defend. To protect, cover, and defend what? Lucifer was Almighty God’s four-winged liege lord appointed to cover Eden and her two new inhabitants upon the newly created earth. “You, Lucifer, who have been in Eden, the garden of God, as the anointed angel that covers, protects, and hedges, you walked (were trained in My Presence) upon My Holy Mountain (to run point, lead, cover, and protect). You walked up and down in the very midst of My Stones of Fire (My knowledge, My gifts, My anointings, My Mysteries, and My Presence)”. “It was there, in My Holy Mountain on the day of your creation that you were adorned with every precious stone; the ruby, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, all set in a grade of gold unknown to man. In the day that you were created, the workmanship of your tabrets (your instrumental ability as a virtuoso), and your pipes (your vocal abilities as a master singer) I did tune, plumb, and bob with perfection. You were the anointed angel that covered, for I did set you so. You, Lucifer, upon My Holy Mountain, did walk up and down in the midst of My Stones of Fire. From the day you were created, you were perfect in all your ways, until evil was found in you. (Ezekiel 28:13,14,15)
How did that evil get there?
¶ Could it be that Lucifer was shaken to the bone, jilted by utter unbelief, that God would go so far as to create someone in His very Own Image and Likeness, trumping the God-given, created glory of Lucifer? I believe that the Lord created Lucifer out of a Love unimaginable and gifted him far above the others of his own rank and file. I also believe Lucifer had a very special relationship with the Ancient of Days which is why he was staggered by incomprehensible unbelief and stunned by inconceivable jealousy when he found that God created someone more beautiful than himself, and beyond that, that God would go so far as to create them in His very own Image and Likeness, then bless them with a gift as immense as the planet earth, the world itself, and then had the gall to set someone as great, and important, as Lucifer himself as guardian over it all, to cover it all. I wonder, did Lucifer wonder, “Why not me?” Oh, how things can turn on a dime!
¶ Lucifer’s heart began to soar into the heights of haughtiness while his mind did sink into the tangled scenarios of “whys” and “wherefores”. Craftiness and controversy began to overrule his wisdom, augmenting day-by-day thoughts of revenge and rebellion until he came to harbor, in a heart turned evil, this message for his Creator, Almighty God, the Ancient of Days Himself; “Your heavens I will own, Above your stars I will raise my throne, I will sit above You upon the mountain of the Great Congregation, (²I will rule) from the magnificent Sides of the North. I will ascend above Your heights, I will make myself like You.” (Isaiah 14:13,14,¹wcv) Did Lucifer so deceive himself that he actually came to believe that he could put his creator, Almighty God, under his feet?
¶ Could it be that Lucifer became lathered, like a beast, into such a fit of blinding jealousy because of God’s creation and great Love for Adam and Eve, who Almighty God, their loving Father, made in the very image and likeness of His triune Self, who He then blessed with an incredible inheritance, the earth, upon which He strolled with them in the cool at the close of every day in a garden of perfection He fashioned just for them; the garden known as Eden? (Gen 1:27, 2:8, 3:8) Could it be that Lucifer’s rage was so blinding as to drive him so insanely delusional that he actually convinced himself that he could overtake his Creator, Almighty God, and even seize ownership of the earth? No one coerced him, no one tempted him. He was overtaken by nothing but his own PRIDE. Lucifer first deceived himself, then went on to convince one-third of the angels of heaven to rebel against their Creator, Almighty God. He must have been quite the politician; the creator and Master Weaver of the Lying Web. What a dark mental loom he must have possessed to master tying such a weaver’s hitch as to secure with the noose of deception one-third of the angels of heaven with his evil warp and silver-tongued woof. It must have been a very enticing garment he donned, this cloak of cunning and cozenage.
¶ Long before antiquity, back thru the ancient corridors of time that open up into the Lord’s boundless realm of eternal ages, there was a war. This war is described in the Book of Revelation, Chapter 12, verses 7,8,9. It begins, “And there was war in heaven: Michael (the warring Archangel) and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels with him and prevailed not; neither was their place found anymore in heaven. The great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, now known as the Devil, Satan, who now deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Even Jesus Himself said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning thru the heavens to the earth.” (Revelation 12:7,8,9) (Luke 10:18)
¶ Lucifer the Gatherer: Lucifer gathered one-third of the angels in a coup to overthrow Almighty God. Immediately after being defeated and cast thru the outer darkness, like lightning, he struck the earth. Satan then quickly gathered the knowledge of God, which he had an abundance of, perverted it, and with its inversion deceived mankind. Some 4000 years later he gathered Herod along with the Roman army against the Holy Child, Jesus, killing every child two years old and under to rid himself of this newborn King of the Jews. He then gathered Pontius Pilate, the Roman Army, the Pharisees, the Israelites, and the Gentiles to cruxify Jesus Christ, which was his BIG MISTAKE, for three days later, in all the Power, Glory, and splendor of Almighty God, Jesus Christ came out of that grave with the Keys of Death & Hell in His Hand, treading death, hell, and Satan beneath His feet. Jesus Christ Himself said in the Book of Revelation, “I AM He that Lives! I was Dead, and behold, I Am Alive FOREVERMORE, AMEN (²Ain’t It So)!!! …And, in My Hand, I hold the Keys of Death & Hell.” “I Am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE and no one enters the Kingdom of God but through Me (Revelation 1:18, John 14,6). The Son of Man, the Son of David, the Son of God, Our Kinsman Redeemer, Jesus Christ, on the Cross before giving up the ghost, then said, “IT’S FINISHED”!!! If you can read between the lines, you can see there where it says, “The one who shook the nations and made all of mankind tremble – is toast!” When our Lord, Jesus Christ came out of that grave the only thing bruised about Him was His heel, from delivering to Satan the fatal headwound spoken of in Genesis 3:15, and Revelation 13:3.
¶ Lucifer, the selfsame one who instigated a rebellion in heaven and was cast down like lightning through the heavens to the earth, with vile bitterness, did immediately continue his fierce contest against God and mankind alike in his new habitation, the earth, and its outer darkness, saying, “I will frustrate the designs of Almighty God, and, in spite of Him, I will conquer Mount Zion and sit upon the Set Throne of David in the temple of God (the hearts of men²) on earth showing to myself and all that dwell upon the earth, that I am God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:4, ¹) Furthermore, I will gather the armies of the nations of the earth into the Valley of Megiddo where I will destroy God’s people and everyone else on earth who calls themselves by His Name. Fortunately, for us, that will be his Armageddon, not ours. Little does Satan know that the LORD is also gathering. Little does Satan even suspect that it is the Lord Who has put a hook in his jaw and the jaws of the wicked rulers and kings of the nations of the earth that have bowed down to this Abomination of Desolation. It is none other than the Lord Himself who is gathering Satan and his hordes along with the armies of the wicked nations of the earth to come against the smallest nation on earth, Almighty God’s Crown Jewel, Israel, in the Valley of Megiddo to Armageddon, where He, Satan, and his cohorts shall all be thrown into the Winepress of the Lord to be tread underfoot by this Rider Comin’ In, Who is none other than Jesus Christ, the Ancient Lion of the Tribe of Judah. (Ezekiel 39:2,3,4 / Revelation 16:13,14, ¹)
¶ And though this Devil received a deadly headwound when Jesus Christ, Our Kinsman Redeemer, came out of that grave, the final battle has not yet been fought, which brings us into a Deeper Fetch of Psalms II where we find this wounded adversary, “gathering together the kings of the earth and the rulers of the nations against the Lord and against His Christ.” for one last onslaught that he might gather together with him as many as he possibly can to keep him company in the eternal fires of hell.
¶ For those that have “Eyes To See”; “When you SEE Jerusalem compassed about by the armies of the great warring nations of the earth…lift up your heads and know that your Redemption is at hand…for with the Armies of Heaven our Returning King is about to split that eastern sky.” (Luke 21:20,28, Matthew 24:27,30, ¹wcv&²)
which brings us to the first of the Messianic Psalms, a Prophetic Psalm penned by a warrior-king, a prophet, and singer psalmwriter, named David, some 3000 years ago, known today as Psalm II.
1 Why do the heathen rage and the wicked gather in vain?
2 The Kings of the earth are stationing themselves with the rulers of the nations, Together they are fixed in their counsel against the LORD, and His ANOINTED ONE.
3 To break all ties with the throne of God, and sever the cords of heaven.
4 But You, oh Lord, make sport of them, for You have them in derision.
5 When Your decree of judgment falls upon their ears they will be vexed and sorely troubled beyond repair.
6 For it is You, Oh Father, that has set Your Son, our King, upon the Set Throne of David, forever upon Your Holy hill.
7 It is You, Oh Father, Who has declared the decree over Jesus Christ, our Kinsman Redeemer, saying, ‘You are My Son, this day have I begotten Thee.’
8 You then went on to say to Him, ‘Ask of Me, and I will give you the heathen, and the nations for Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession.
9 In That Day, so heavily will the rod of God’s judgment fall on evil and shatter (the agenda of evil governments along with the kings and subjects of) all those who stubbornly stand in obstinate rebellion, that the earth itself will quake uncontrollably. (Revelation 16:18)
10 So be wise, all of you who sit as kings in high places, and all you judges of the earth,
11 Bow down and serve the Lord with reverence, and with fear (for even the mountains will melt, and the earth quake (Revelation 16:18) at the first sign of His return.
12 Kiss the Son of God and you can rejoice forevermore, knowing that you will not perish when the wrath of this Ancient Lion is stirred up. For blessed are all of us who put our trust in Him, Jesus Christ, Our Lord. (¹wcv & ²)
¶ In a Deep Fetch for the confirmation of the Prophetic Truths hidden in Psalms II, we find the Patriarch, Jacob, in his dying hours, nearly 3,500 years ago, gathering together his twelve sons to reveal to them what would befall their descendants in these days in which we are now living and in the Age to Come; “And Jacob gathered his sons and said, ‘Gather yourselves before me that I may tell you what will befall your descendants in the Last Days. Judah (Jesus Christ) is a Young Lion who always returns in triumph with the spoils of His prey, soon grown and full of Power, He will stretch Himself out without fear to rest in peace, afraid of nothing. Tell me, who would dare stir up this Ancient Lion?² (Genesis 49:9)
¶ The Scepter (of Kingship) shall never depart from Judah (Jesus), (for it is out of your loins, Judah, and the loins of your descendant, David, that this Ancient Lion will come, the One known as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah), for this fulfiller of the Law will come from between your feet. When Shiloh (the Messiah, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah) comes, to Him shall the gathering of all things and all people be” (Genesis 49:9,10, Matthew 13:41, 24:31, Ephesians 1:10)
¶ “For in the dispensation of the fulness of times He will gather together in One, all things in Jesus Christ, all things which are in heaven and all things which are on the earth will be gathered, In Him, in whom lies our inheritance.” (Ephesians 1:10,11) the Hebrew word (en = in) (In Him, By Him, For Him, and under His rule to rest there, forever)
¶ And so, to all those who are in Christ, I would say, “Look up, lift up your heads, for our redemption is certainly drawing nigh. (Luke 21:28) However, to the unbeliever, the fearful, the ruthless, the wicked, and the High Falutin Harlot, I would say, “I’m afraid you’ve stirred up an Ancient Lion.

God bless us each and every single one with the Wonderful Wisdom of God! Convict us, Oh LORD of HONESTY, SINCERITY, and OBEDIENCE of HEART that we might, by the Spirit of God, gather in Christ the Strength (a Heart completely Captured by God) to STAND like David STOOD – that You, O LORD, might MOVE through us in these Last Days as You can only do through “A People After God’s Own Heart”.
