Letters from Over Yonder

A MEMORIAL DAY “Letter From Over Yonder”, “WHERE IS MY BOY ?”

We fought the good fight, the good fight we fought

Now some of the living are dead

Those that gave all are living somewhere

And FREEDOM lives here in their stead

On this MEMORIAL DAY, the 29th of May, In The Year of Our Lord, 2023. Ah, Lord God of all Heaven & Earth, we beseech you as One Nation Under God; Pour out Your Spirit upon us! Bless this Great Nation with Repentance & Restoration!  As we  REMEMBER ALL THOSE WHO HAVE LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES FOR FREEDOM, FOR THOSE WHO HAVE GONE ON BEFORE US, AND FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE STILL HERE.  God bless every mother, every father, every son & every daughter, every brother & every sister who, on these shores and across the great sea, have stood in harm’s way.  GOD BLESS US ONE AND ALL!!! That we might ONE & ALL Stand for You Lord as You have stood for us!

                                                 STANDIN’

When trouble darkens my door & storm clouds do abound

When that ill wind starts kickin’-up bending my strong oaks down

When Old Man River jumps the bank and the sky puts on a fearsome face

I got reasons, I got my reasons for STANDIN’ right here in this place

I got me a woman, a beautiful woman, I got daughters & I got sons

I got irons in the fire & this ground I been standin’ on

I got me a Friend that sticks closer than a brother

Thru the thick & thru the thin

I got reasons, I got my reasons for STANDIN’,  yes I do

In Shiloh, where I was born, a soldier knocked on my door

It was that ill wind bringin’ the news, son, your daddy ain’t comin’ home

FREEDOM  is pricey, hell to pay, when that sky puts on a fearsome face

I got a reason, I got my reasons for STANDIN’ – right here in this place

In those strange & deadly lands

In Nam, Iraq & Afganistan

Between the devil & the deep blue sea

That ill win took it’s toll on me

So don’t tell me not to fly my Flag, read my Bible or pray in Jesus Name

He’s the Reason, the only Reason I’m still STANDIN’ right here in this place

He gave me my woman, my beautiful woman, He gave my daughters & He gave me my sons

He gave me the Iron for my fire & this ground I’m standin’ on

I got me a Friend that sticks closer than a brother

Thru the thick & thru the thin

He’s the Reason, the only Reason I’m still STANDIN’
